Hi I’m Erin!

From a young age, everyone around me knew that I would become some sort of artist. At the age of three, you could find me drawing on the walls. At six, I read my arts and crafts book every night until I fell asleep, and by twelve, I was painting anything and everything I could find. During this same time, I was deeply curious about how the things around us function. I had a fascination with the science behind why things worked as they did, as well as a passion for problem-solving.

What I didn’t realize at the time was that my love for creating wasn’t just about making art, but also about design. I became captivated by how form and function intersect, how thoughtful design could solve real-world problems, and how creativity could be used to improve the way we interact with the world.

After graduating from UW-Madison in 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design, I decided to continue my education at the same institution. I am currently pursuing my Master’s in Design and Innovation, where I specialize in User Experience design.

Fun Fact! I speak German

I’ve been studying German since 2017, and it all started back in 8th grade when my family hosted an exchange student named Leo from Cham, Germany. Leo taught us so much about the language and culture that I decided to head to Cham myself as an exchange student the following year. After those three weeks, I was hooked.

Beyond just loving the language, I discovered a deep connection to my heritage. Both of my great-grandparents were German speakers, but the tradition wasn't passed down, so learning the language feels like I’m reclaiming a piece of my family history. I eventually minored in German in college and spent six months living in Berlin in 2024 to get some real-world practice. I also love volunteering at Germanfest in Milwaukee every year to stay connected to the community. While I’d describe my skills as 'limited working proficiency' for now, I’m always looking for ways to keep practicing and growing.

When I’m not designing, you can usually find me crocheting. There’s something so cool about turning a simple spool of yarn into something wearable and practical. It’s the perfect way to keep my hands busy while I’m catching up on my favorite shows or movies.

I’m also a huge music fan. I’ll listen to pretty much any genre, but I always find myself coming back to 70s and 90s rock. My go-to bands are usually Fleetwood Mac, the Eagles, No Doubt, and Paramore, but my all-time favorite song has to be 'Beast of Burden' by the Rolling Stones.

Lastly, my favorite way to spend a day is just hanging out with my pets. There’s nothing better than cuddling and playing with my dogs, Penny and Nellie, and my cat, Hunter.
